A recipe mistakenly called for "salt and freshly ground black people" instead of "pepper."

The "Pasta Bible" - a recently released cookbook - made its publishing company lose cash vs. weight over a really bad typo.
According to the NY Daily News, Penguin Australia must fork over a large chunck of cash to reprint 7,000 copies of the "Pasta Bible" after mistakenly printing: "salt and freshly ground black people" instead of "pepper".

I bet they cannot wait to release their next cookbook on the iPad.

About that... My friend Dana developed a cookbook iPad app that would be ideal for them...
Dear Penguin, let me know if you'd like an introduction :)

And thanks to my friend Lukas for posting the news on his Facebook.

Mathias Döpfner shares his excitement for the iPad with Charlie Rose

Browsing Hulu for a bedtime video, I stumbled upon Charlie Rose's interview of Mathias Döpfner and was smitten by his optimism not only about the publishing business but also about how he sees the US as a leader and guardian of freedom and democracy... I certainly can appreciate that and this positivity reminds me of Sarkozy's address to the US Congress a couple of years ago.

On a different note:

Dear Charlie Rose,
I would love to share your invaluable content with all my friends. Yet can you please find a different/additional way to distribute your show? Due to Hulu's geographic restrictions, this is what most people  outside the US see
(and I am sure many fans of yours):

Amazon's 420,000+ books available via its new Blackberry Kindle App

Before stumbling Wireless Week's news regarding the launch of the 'Kindle for Blackberry', I had lunch (actually it was more of a brunch) with a friend who was reading Les Echos on his Kindle. And among other things we talked about how the iPad's arrival would definitely pause as a game changer for Amazon's eReader and might be the catalyst to Amazon venturing onto other handsets. It turns out we were wrong (yes I admit) as Amazon probably thought of providing an ubiquitous experience long ago since its ebooks are already available via all the following platforms iPhone, iPod Touch, PC and Mac. Getting on the iPad seems to be Amazon's next step on sealing a very incesteous relationship with Apple...

Is Wired ready for an Apple iPad launch?

Mind-blowing, Wired presents us with an intuitive way of interacting with its content, while experimenting with cool features such as the 3D spinning of products, which opens new avenues for advertising and product reviews.

That said, it seems that this groundbreaking app may be incompatible with the Apple iPad :( according to the word on the street (of the blogosphere). Garysky at AppleSky writes that "interactive Wired issues probably won’t be compatible with the iPad due to its inability to run Adobe’s proprietary technologies like Flash and AIR".

Yet according to Cult of Mac yesterday, Wired's EIC Chris Anderson said: "The app is designed to run using Adobe’s Air, but can be easily repurposed for the iPad and other devices"...

Does anyone know which team built the app anyway? Feel free to email/comment.

A friend tells me it has been developed internally for months way before anyone was sure there was going to be an iPad.

A few hours left to enjoy the Wall Street Journal for free...

While some newspapers are thinking of charging their online users to access their online content (the New York Times will introduce its paid model in the beginning of 2010), others chose the opposite path... for today only. Indeed, the Wall Street Journal has invited users to experience WSJ.com's new features for free until tonight. Although Nicholas Carlson from the Business Insider has posted here some steps on how to read it for free ALL YEAR LONG. I am not sure if it still works... We will have to wait until tomorrow to test out the method. Enjoy!

Magazine on Asian Art

Lately a few friends in the art business expressed their interest in Contemporary Asian Art (from Indian, Japanese, etc. artists), and this morning I discovered this on-topic magazine: artasiapacific, via my friend Paul Laster's facebook page.

So my friends, in case you haven't heard of it yet, please get your hands on a copy of ArtAsiaPacific, coincidentally published in New York City. For those already familiar with it (the magazine has been around for the past 16 years), would you mind sharing your feedback by posting or emailing your comments?
